Hatchet 3 is Hatchet's horror film from 2013. It chronicles Victor Crowley's ongoing adventures through Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp, as well as his violent murderous rampage. Kane Hodder portrays Victor Crowley while Brian Quinn plays Deputy Winslow. Rileah Vanbilt plays Misty.



The movie's special effects are the film's greatest strength. Hatchet 3 uses a lot less CG effects than other horror films. This allows for some truly terrifying moments to be recorded throughout the film.

The cast delivers a strong performance, with Kane Hodder being the most intimidating villain. The dialogue is sufficiently campy and witty to feel like a true 1980s slasher film at times. There are also some hilarious moments that stand out against all the heart-wrenching scenes.

Unfortunately because of the small budget (reportedly only $1 million) most of the locations are re-used from previous films in the series--the identical boat house was used twice in the film and much of it feels like it's been recycled from previous films in the franchise. Hatchet (blog) or Hatchet II may be able to recognize it as familiar, which could result in the film feeling almost too familiar.

Overall, Hatchet 3 was a excellent series overall. There were many gory moments and several great performances by the cast.
